Blog 1 - Woah we’ve been making a game!
Hey there brave explorers! I’m Oliver, the Level Design Lead and amateur Blog Writer for one of Bradley’s 2025 Capstone teams, Last Voyage. As the weather here finally begins to warm up, our development cycle begins to wind down. As such, our leadership team has decided to start showing off to the masses (you guys) how cool all our work is! Part of this process is going to be weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, these blogs that I am going to try and put out on a semi-regular cadence that you all can read, enjoy, and hopefully learn a thing or two.
First thing’s first though, a lot of you probably have no idea what on Earth we’ve been working on in the first place! Well it is my pleasure to introduce all of you to,
A first-person survival horror game that finds you, the player, fixing up an old Ferry Boat while figuring out what exactly lurks in the swamp you find yourself in. Armed with only a rusty old harpoon gun, you’ll have to navigate the slowly shifting pathways of the boat, paths that you swear are far bigger than they ought to be….
Cool right? It has been an absolute blast getting to work on this thing and I am over the moon about getting to show off all this cool stuff for you guys. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be teaming up with other members of the project to help go into deep dives about the many different aspects of our game and its development, such as;
- How on Earth we got here in the first place
- Our play space (My stuff that I will totally be completely be unbiased about)
- Our story and how its conveyed
- The Creature
Supplementing this will be various social media posts and team member interviews all hosted by our wonderful Marketing lead, Marissa Edwards! All this together will hopefully put together a decent looking picture on what exactly we’ve all been doing for the last year or so. With all that being said, I’m going to say goodbye to you all here, and hope that next time you’ll join us for a deep dive on how this project got started and how it grew into what it is today, with help from our team’s Creative Director, Kyle Kotovsky.
